What are the challenges posed by artificial intelligence in the humanities?

We are delighted to announce the first lecture in our lecture series ‘Futures of the Past – New Methods in the Humanities’.

The lecture series is a joint initiative organised by the Cluster of Excellence in Cross-Cultural Philology and the Collaborative Research Centre on Cultures of Vigilance. It addresses the challenges that artificial intelligence poses to the humanities.

For the first lecture, we are delighted to welcome Barbara McGillivray from King’s College London, a recognised expert in the field. Her lecture is entitled “Meanings Past and Present in the Age of Language Models”.
